I'm sorry, I thought I was helping since you said you didn't know what purple meant...

[ she looks down at her clasped hands once she feels the thread go taut, pulling on the one string around her right ring finger, a softer champagne gold like the kind seen in clothing accents. thank goodness it wasn't to her middle finger like Sholmes kept intentionally tugging at, and Harlock accidentally, hence her oversensitive reaction to Juzo's attempt with Lotor's string. ]

[ It's probably not hard to notice that lovely champagne color goes quite pink on Juzo's end, though it's still flecked with gold. There's a thin, red streak winding its way through it.

He feels the tug as well, glancing down.

Ah. Hm. Unsure if he should address this one or not. ]

[ she's just checking to see if her threads are actually more tangled than their conversation, and hers are fine? maybe some of the yellow-green ones overlap but otherwise they're in decent enough order ]

Then what was the conversation supposed to be when it was, um, on track? Does it have something to do with coming to the diner?

[ He cuts a glance in Yor's direction. Maybe she hasn't noticed? Probably better to keep this crush to himself, anyway, so he won't bring it up. ]

Checkin' on the others, figurin' out what's going on.

[ her attention had been 100% focused on her own hands after he said the the conversation was officially more tangled up than their strings, and has been checking to see if she accidentally created a new knot. her concern is making sure the strings don't physically hurt anyone, and since color is irrelevant to that it's only vaguely in her thoughts. ]

Oh, I thought you wanted to come here because of the, um, kitchen situation. Like maybe we could find some lids or thermoses for any drinks while this continues.

I just figured it'd be easier than tryin' to get back to the dorm, but maybe we should stock up on stuff for the kitchen while we're here.

[ she looks relieved that this wasn't a "get Yor away from the kitchen" plan ]

...l-like a new cutting board?

[ Tilts his head in that way he does to suggest he'd be raising an eyebrow. ]

Did you break the old one?

[ you said you didn't care about the cutting board this is entrapment!! ]

I...k-kind of. Or I made two smaller, still usable cutting boards.

We can get a new one. Save the two little pieces as backups.

...okay. A cutting board, lids for drinks, and food that's not too messy that we can eat one handed?

I think that sounds like a solid plan. We got no idea how long this is gonna last, after all.

[ which is an invitation to stop her, because Yor already overstocks when she gets food. ]

I don't know what else we can do. Maybe camping if there's not enough space, but Mr. Harlock and Stoat already did that for a task and I don’t know if they'd be eager.to try it again...

[ Oh yeah, Juzo knows very well by now how she is when it comes to prepping. ]

I don't think it's gonna get so dire that we can't come back here if we need to. Let's just grab the essentials for now.

[ listen, she's following the grocery rule of "if you can carry it back in one trip then you're good" it's not her fault she can carry several shopping carts worth of food in one trip ]

Okay. Then...I can gather the utensils and you can get the food?

Sounds like a plan to me.

[ WELL crisis averted, thankfully. They can shop, however this counts as shopping, in peace. ]

[ it would be a mild inconvenience at most, since they have a member of Phoenix (and one adjacent) that literally eats like a horse. but she smiles before heading into the diner, leaving the door propped open for him in case he'd prefer to finish his smoke break outdoors. but once she gets behind the counter she calls out: ]

Um, would a second serving tray count as an essential?

[ He stays outside for just a moment longer, snubbing out his cigarette before he follows her in. (Even though he smokes in here all the time usually whoops.) ]

Do we even use the one we have?

[ while not intentional, she may have developed some gentle prompting for her smoking teammates to finish due to the sheer amount their time together. and if Juzo is getting food he shouldn't be smoking while doing so! ]

Not much, but if Miss Marianne wants to make tea for everyone at the same time, it's easier to serve with a tray. And Mr. Hunter may be borrowing ours...

[ she says like it's normal for a teenage boy to just do this ]

[ There really are a lot of smokers on Phoenix aren't there... their dorm must smell lovely. ]

[ again, talking like this is normal behavior. she starts moving stacks of saucers and mugs to see if she can find any lids. ]

I think he might, but I'm worried how he might react. I'm sure you noticed his hair has been getting longer? When he borrowed my compact and saw his reflection, he became very upset...

[ like, knife weilding to chop hair off upset ]

I gave him a haircut, but I wondered if maybe having the tray on hand as an optional mirror might help? S-since his hair will eventually grow out again...

[ Juzo, who does not have hair, is very confused over this for a moment, but slowly some pieces start to drift into place. ]

... You saw Belos, right? After we all got taken over? What'd he look like?

[ she was being circumspect in case Juzo felt self-conscious about hair :( ]

Since they're related, they look very much alike. That's why Mr. Hunter was so upset, the long hair reminded him of his uncle.
