I kinda figured the origins would be mostly the same. For my world, Extensions came about during the Great War. The idea was to build super soldiers, and finally turn the tide.
That's right. A GSU can't access their full combat capabilities without authorization from a Hands. Attemptin' to force it causes our sub-brains to shut down. It's how the military kept us in check.

Sub-brains are auxiliary brains that take care of the computin' part of makin' Extensions work. Means the human brain takes less of a load because it's not runnin' code for every little thing.
